Customer Spotlight: Jr’s Cobra X BC Forged LE05

When some people think of the Terminator, they think of a 1984 Sci-Fi thriller by James Cameron and some jacked dude named Arnold Schwarzenegger (had to be in bold). I cannot think of a better, more fitting nickname for the 2003-2004 Ford Mustang Cobra. Ford plays Cameron, and well the Cobra is Arnold. There is no way around it!

When I think of the Terminator I think of our Ford performance manager and my amazing friend Kevin Dion. He has a 934 whp Whipple Supercharged Cobra that has cemented a feeling of face melting acceleration in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gear and beyond. These cars just pull like a freight train.

When Jr came to us for a unique wheel idea for his VERY clean Terminator, we immediately jumped at the opportunity to introduce BC Forged to more Cobro’s and see what we could make happen. His car is unique in the fact that this car ditched the IRS (independent rear suspension) in favor of running a straight rear axle! A lot of wheel companies will overlook this and run the 18×11 +19 rear, which will leave you looking like a lifted Duramax out back.

Specs needed for SRA Terminator: 18×9.5 +25 front and 18×11 +34 rear.

Specs needed for IRS Terminator: 18×9.5 +25 front and 18×11 +19 rear.

Onto: The finished product! 3-5 weeks after your order is placed, each one of our BC Forged customers receives a proof of concept in a completion photo. BC Forged is just SO on point with their process. A great example of how all brands should do it.

Customer Spotlight: Alan’s C6 Corvette Z06 x Forgestar F14

When you think about the C6 Corvette, the 7 liter Z06 stands CLEARLY out in my mind as one of my favorites. In fact, I went into a dealer to look at a used one this year and left with a C7 Grandsport! (Story for another time).

The factory wheels and specs leave a lot to be desired. When Alan came to us for a great fitting, lightweight and all around quality option that didn’t kill his wallet, the Forgestar F14 was a perfect match. The specs we did 19×10 +30 and 20×12 +50 allow for a wide array of tires. 285/30r19 and 335/25r20 are the norm for this set up. Customer’s can and will try other sizes as well like the 345/30r20 shown here on Alan’s car in back. The color Alan really wanted something cool and different. We decided quickly on the brushed DDT.

Customer Spotlight: Mirel’s F30 328D x Air Lift x Rotiform RSE

The BMW F30 chassis is a SUPER popular one for us at Wheel Lab. We wanted to showchase a good friend’s car we had the pleasure of setting up. When Mirel and I became friends, we became friends fast. The F30 328D coudln’t be any further away from the type of car that fits Mirel’s wild personality. Being his daily and his E36 M3 his fun car, we focused more on the looks of this one.

Our goal was a nice clean attitude change for the F30 while keeping it daily drive-able. We wanted a flush stance that was tucked perfectly under the fender, to avoid any unnecessary bodywork. With Mirel being from Boston, we knew coilovers wouldn’t cut it. Air Lift was the clear winner for suspension for this car and the RSE’s by Rotiform couldn’t have been a better choice for cast wheels.

Shop Car Spotlight: E46 M3 x Rotiform LSR – final stage

The car here is a 2003.5 BMW M3 in Alpine white with a 6spd manual and 50,400 original miles in these pics, with factory nav, full black napa leather. Essentially the dream car from my highschool days. In its current state even better than I could have ever imagined. Shortly after this photoshoot the car was sold to a friend in Colorado who is enjoying what the M3 became. The perfect driving machine.

It has been tastefully upgraded my by myself into what I really wanted out of a BMW M3. I wanted the car to be drive-able and look the part. I wanted the CSL experience with a manual gearbox. So in we dove over about a year including some serious bodywork and paint by Precision Collision we didn’t plan to really do, but with anything, projects tend to just get out of control. Especially when you want to fit a 11.5″ rear with a 275.

Here are some of the build details.

For suspension: Status Gruppe SRS coilovers with 8/9k springs and adjustable pillowball camber mounts
SPC rear control arms

For wheels: We did Rotiform LSR in a 3 piece convex rear load configuration finished in matte trans candy gold face, chrome lips and hardware and black barrels. Sizing is 18×10 et25 and 18×11.5 et20, tire choice is a 245/40r18 and 275/35r18 from nitto. Car is set up with -2.5 degrees camber up front and -2.8 degrees in the rear

Performance wise we have done the following: Status gruppe full exhaust with – catless headers, rasp reduction section 1, SCZA section 3 with titanium tips
2m open velocity stacks
TTFS custom alpha N tune
Auto solutions 30% reduction short throw with the ultimate package and race bearings

On the Body: Full Respray Alpine white, extended rear arches by 10mm and fixed every little detail that we didn’t like. We also added a 1 piece Status Gruppe CSL front and rear splitter as well as color matched side markers.

STACK ON STACKS ON STACKS!

Wheel Style:

Customer Spotlight: Jorge’s Silverado x 24×14 American Force Flux SS

When we first met Jorge we worked with him on his Accord Sport on 3 piece Meisters. So when he told us he wanted to do a Silverado 1500, we knew we were in for a treat. Out of all the brands we sell, we decided upon American Force. The pinnacle of high end truck wheels.

We quickly learned Jorge wasn’t messing around when he ordered a 7-9″ lift and said 37’s were his ticket to lifted truck paradise. The Flux from American Force was the choice in the super single set up. Huge lip, high polished, nothing better to set this truck off in our minds.

American Force we actually stock on the shelf in certain designs that can be found here. Which is awesome considering the “normal” wait time is 4-10 weeks! Now our favorite part of this process: the details!

Customer Spotlight: Klassen ID CS35S – Curly’s Ferrari 488

When Curly asked us for a new look for the 488, we knew he needed something classy and different. Something you don’t see on every Ferrari. We explored things like HRE, ADV1, Rotiform Forged, AGL and that’s when we landed on Klassen ID. The CS35S was a PERFECT clean yet classy and simple design that would compliment the contour of the 488, while not taking away from the car itself.

Once we were locked in on the style and stance, we knew a 21″ front 22″ rear set up was the move. Yes people, I said it.. 21 and 22 inch wheels on a Ferrari?! When you see them on the car, it really doesn’t too look big.. at all.

Now this is where it gets interesting. About 3 months after Curly got his wheels on, he asked us what color the faces should go for his Spyder. We thought he was joking! Once Curly decided on making the faces pop a bit more and put them on the Spyder, we fell in love all over again! Enter his newly acquired 488 Spyder and Sapphire Blue Faces on the CS35S wheels. Talk about perfection.

Wheel Style:
Klassen ID CS35S

Customer Spotlight: Rotiform SIX OR x Andew’s Porsche Cayenne Turbo S

The Porsche Cayenne Turbo S is a MONSTER of an SUV. My first experience was in This EXACT generation. My Aunt’s lent me her Cayenne Turbo S when I was visiting California for the first time. I was at a much younger age and doing donuts on the beach in Santa Cruz was all I could dream of! AND THOSE DREAMS CAME TRUE! (Sorry Aunt Steph I couldn’t help it!)

I was hooked then and still to this day love the gravity defying speed the Turbo S delivers, even by today’s standards. What could make it better? More power and a more rowdy stance? I think so. Enter Andrew, when he said he wanted to be different, we just didn’t exactly know what to expect at first. The outcome, well we will let you judge for yourself. The BX Built Cayenne Turbo S, enjoy!
